Merkur Gaming flies high at SAGSE

The widely celebrated 25th edition of SAGSE proved to be a spectacular success for the newest subsidiary of Merkur Gaming Americas. Merkur Gaming Argentina, with its team headed by gaming veteran Alejandro Saraintaris, was ably supported by colleagues from throughout Latin America and Europe and recorded a highly successful show presence.

With a longstanding reputation as being THE show for Latin America, SAGSE has, although decreasing in scale as a result of the economic conditions of recent years, now re-branded itself as the ‘must attend’ event for the region. With the opening of Merkur Gaming Argentina at the start of 2017, the 25th edition of SAGSE was of prime importance for the newest Gauselmann Group subsidiary and this was clearly reflected in the company’s top level presence and performance.

Taking a prime position at the show and also being a platinum sponsor of the event, Merkur Gaming brought a new and fresh dimension to SAGSE with a display of its top quality ‘made in Germany’ products, featuring the Avantgarde Trio and Merkurstar cabinets and using almost exclusively single game presentations. The collection of game themes, from ancient (Sinbad and Ancient Riches) to futuristic (Sci-Donia and Secret Area 81) demonstrated the huge range of available gaming entertainment possibilities.

Being directly under the flight path for the Buenos Aires regional airport meant that it was sometimes necessary at peak flight times to briefly suspend conversations as departing or arriving flights passed overhead. This was a talking point, of course, but one that highlighted the vibrant nature of Buenos Aires; causing one visiting journalist to remark that Merkur Gaming was just like the airport: ‘Flying High’ at SAGSE.

The general manager of Merkur Gaming Argentina, Alejandro Saraintaris, rounded out the show by stating: "SAGSE has been a fantastic show. One major reason that our company was created was to respond positively to the many requests from Argentinean operators for Merkur Gaming to be present and active in this market. I am absolutely certain that SAGSE has been a clear demonstration that we are here, and here for the long term.”

Charles Hiten, Chief Executive of Merkur Gaming Americas, agreed, stating: "Our team has risen to the challenge of putting on a great presentation and we are all delighted at the positive response that we received. This has been a launching pad for us in Argentina and it was also a great event for our colleagues from Peru, Colombia and Mexico too. I congratulate SAGSE on its 25th edition, something that was not just a landmark event for the show but also for the future success of our own company.”
