Brazilian House approves PL 7306/2017 and lottery can revise rates

The Plenary of the Brazilian House approved on Tuesday afternoon the Draft Law 7306/17, by Luiz Carlos Hauly (PSDB-PR) and Goulart (PSD-SP), which determines the annual review of the remuneration that lottery point of sales are paid for the provision of bank receipt services and establishes minimum values of fees for these services.

Some opposition parties, such as PCdoB, have given up blocking the iniciative. The PT had decided to maintain this position, in protest against the pension reform, but also gave up obstructing.

Following the rejection of the obstruction requirements, it was pronounced the opinion of the rapporteur for the project, Júlio Cesar (PSD-PI), which had already been approved by the Work, Administration and Public Service Committee, Finance and Taxation Commission and Constitution and Justice and Citizenship.

With the opinion pronounced, the parliamentarians voted and approved the Final Draft signed by the Rapporteur, Júlio César (PSD-PI). The bill now goes on to be analyzed by the Senate and if approved also by the House, it will become law and then awaits the sanction of the president of the republic.

PL 7306/2017, in the Chamber of Deputies, provides for the value of the tariffs of services provided by lottery points of sale in the function of correspondent banking, among other measures.

The lottery network asked to review the rates in order to end a difficult economic situation that entrepreneurs of the sector are passing through. About 500 lottery houses have already declared bankruptcy and were closed as a result of the current crisis.
