Adjusted for intragroup sales, sales revenues climbed by 17.8% to €1.72 billion, an increase of €260 million. The number of employees rose in the same period by 1,198 to total 10,438 games makers worldwide.
"This growth is above all attributable to foreign sales, which have risen steadily for the past several years, whereas the share of sales of the German market is now just over 50 %,” the company stated.
Internationally, the Gauselmann Group was again able to grow through further acquisitions in fiscal 2016. Sales increased by 23.6% year-on-year to €673 million.
"In the ongoing business year, foreign sales will for the first time account for substantially more than 50 %,” the company said.
While Gauselmann ended the 2016 financial year on a positive note, the group said legal restrictions in the German street gaming market were an ongoing cause for concern.
