The BNDES announces that it will hold a public consultation on the privatization process of the Exclusive Instant Lottery (Lotex), currently managed by Caixa. According to the notice, interested parties can send suggestions from this Tuesday until October 11 through the BNDES website.
There will also be a public face-to-face session to discuss the theme on September 26 in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
Lotex's concession to the private
initiative is expected to take place at auction later this year and is part of
the federal government's collection effort, which estimates double taxation on
bets after privatization.
This volume of revenue can jump quickly from US$ 1.95 billion to at least US$
3.85 billion, which may help bolster the National Treasury's cash position in
the coming years while public accounts are expected to remain in the red.
The BNDES is responsible for carrying out all the acts necessary for the privatization of Lotex, which concession term will be 25 years. The documents of the public consultation can be accessed on the site of the development bank.
