Pro-Gaming Front was created in the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies

Congressman Cesar Halum filed a petition yesterday (Thursday) in the Chamber of Deputies to create the Parliamentary Front for the approval of the Regulatory Framework of Gaming in Brazil. The document is signed by 262 deputies who supported the initiative. GMB spoke with Halum, the front-runner, who explained the goals and revealed that the official launch of the front should happen on October 18.

"We have been working on the creation of the front and, today,I can tell you that it’s been created. We have sgned today the request with more than 250 signatures and we are already planning its implementation next October 18th when we will make an official launch of the front. It is intended that the president of the house, who has the prerogative to put the matter in consideration, can call to vote this bill that is extremely important. A special commission was created that give an opinion, and now it has been a year since this report was approved by the committee, now waiting to go to the plenary."

Deputy Cesar Halum also stressed that the work of the front will help in the approval of the project, and especially, take the debate on the gaming legalization to the population that, in his visión, knows little of the topic and that has been accustomed that gaming is something wrong and not seen as an economic activity.

"This has not been discused with the society. Many people still consider that gambling is a bad thing, something that comes from evil and does not connect it with an economic activity. So during those 76 years, Brazil has this outdated legislation, trying to put in people's minds that gaming is a misdemeanor and we argue that it is a very important economic activity. "

GMB also spoke with lawyer Roberto Brasil Fernandes, legal representative of ABLE - Brazilian Association of State Lotteries- and one of the main proponents of the gaming legalization. He explains that the creation of the front has regimental foresight and gives formal character to a group of parliamentarians who advocate the same cause.

For Brasil Fernandes, the deputies decided to create the Parliamentary Front for the approval of the Regulatory Framework of Gaming in Brazil for believing that the activity can collaborate so that the country overcomes the economic difficulties, besides other problems.

"This activity can generate billions in taxes, in addition to offering a fiscalized activity and generating employment for the Brazilians. The deputies understand that the legalized market, like in several countries in the world, is the best solution from the tax point of view, public safety and, above all, the only way to prevent ludopathy and help the country to get out of the economic crisis," concludes the lawyer.

Contrary to the creation of the Parliamentary Front for the approval of the Regulatory Framework of Gaming in Brazil, deputies linked to the evangelical group are trying to create the "Commission without Gambling". However, it seems that it does not yet have sufficient signatures.
