Brazilian Parliamentary Front in Defense of Tourism debates gaming legalization

The Joint Parliamentary Front in Defense of Tourism holds a seminar on the legalization of gambling in Brazil on Thursday (26th) this week. The first panel, from 9 am to 10.30 am, will be on 'Gaming and Politics - Regulation of gaming and how to curb illegal gambling'. Then, from 11 am to 1 pm, the seminar will discuss 'Gaming and Consumer Protection - How to create strong regulation, that protects consumer, facilitates dispute resolution, supports and secures financial protection.'

To the event are invited:

- Paulo Duarte Lopes, Director of the Department of Planning and Control of Gaming of the Ministry of Tourism of Portugal;

- Michael Pollock, Executive director of the United States National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS);

- Carlos Carrion, Representative of the Mexican Committee of the Association of Manufacturers of Gaming Equipment (AGEM);

- Willian P. Colley, Ohio State Senator; and

- Becky Harris, Former Nevada Senator.

The International Legislator's Day is of exclusive access to legislators and takes place at the heart of the national legislative power, the Chamber of Deputies in Brasilia. The agenda will be presented by international experts who will share their experiences and will be available to respond to any issue such as private meetings.

Initially organized during ICE London 2017, the International Legislator's Agenda (ILA) aims to bring together representatives of the legislature, executive, judiciary and government officials to share best practices in global gaming legislation and regulation.

With the legalization of games of chance being studied carefully by the Brazilian Legislators, Clarion Gaming and the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS) in partnership with the Joint Parliamentary Front in Defense of Tourism of the National Congress present this learning platform to the legislature and executive of the country.

The official opening of the seminar will be at 8:45 p.m., in plenary 2.
