More presence in US and Colombia

With new DraftKings deal Kambi continues its expansion in America

Kambi is expanding its reach into different markets across the continent after securing sportsbook deals with both Rush Street Interactive (RSI) in Colombia and DraftKings in the US market. “The Kambi technology is unique in that it empowers operators to innovate and create differentiated sports betting experiences,” said Kambi’s CEO, Kristian Nylén.

Having suggested that the release of rushbet.co in the regulated Colombian market had “laid the groundwork” for its imminent US launch, Kambi was true to its word by signing a multi-year deal with fantasy sports operator DraftKings just a few days later.

The release of rushbet.co comes less than a month after Kambi announced the partnership with RSI, news which broke in the same week that the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) repealed the country’s federal ban on sports betting.

The multi-year deal with DraftKings means that Kambi technology will be exposed to a large database of US players, starting with DraftKings’ imminent sportsbook launch in New Jersey. The deal also includes terms for the partnership to expand when commercially agreeable regulatory frameworks are implemented across the country.

DraftKings has already signalled its intent within the developing US market by pushing for a cash injection of more than US$150 million and opening new betting-based offices in New Jersey,

Kristian Nylén, Kambi Chief Executive Officer, said: “I am delighted Kambi has been selected to partner DraftKings as it enters the sports betting market. The Kambi technology is unique in that it empowers operators to innovate and create differentiated sports betting experiences, providing the flexibility which will be crucial in the developing US market.”
