Jaime Wilhelm, CEO of Sun Dreams, told the Chilean newspaper El Mercurio about the new project of the casino operator in Colombia. The company is managing the license to operate a sports betting site - football, tennis, rugby, among others - and that can be done live, when the game is being developed.
"Colombia is the first country in Latin America to have a regulation on sports betting and online casinos. This is a market that has a very high level of competitiveness.Today they have more than 10 operators for online sports betting. We expect at the beginning of next year to have our first license and start to operate," he says.
Also, reviewing the operation recently completed in Argentina, Wilhelm commented that "the purchase of the casino in Mendoza is part of the development we have planned for the region. Three months ago we announced the takeover of the Thunderbird operation in Peru (four casinos that acquired in April). The possibility of Argentina had been brewing since the Las Vegas fair, and we thought that Mendoza met the conditions, both for the development of the city and for its gaming legislation.
" Finally, the executive explained that in the last two years the focus of the company has been placed in Latin America and did not rule out the possibility of making a new acquisition in Argentina, Peru or Colombia, during 2018 or 2019.
