Andrea Pino, Starlight General Manager

"We get optimistic news from Brazil about the possible opening of the market"

Going through a 2018 of growth with a major expansion of its factory in Peru that allows it to expand in the region, Starlight was presented at SAGSE looking to enter with more strength in Argentina. Andrea Pino, its General Manager, reviews the first half of the year and sees the near future, where she does not rule out Brazil: 'There they value the experience in the manufacture of signs and lighting projects, and we have plenty of it.'

GMB - With what expectations does Starlight come to SAGSE this year?
Andrea Pino - Our goal is to enter the Argentine market with more presence; we will see how the rest of the year and the next one develops to be able to achieve it. At the same time, we continue to grow in different regions of Latin America.

What novelties or new products did you present this year?
We continue to present our traditional products, now with the possibilities that we have an area of more than 2,000 square meters of manufacturing in Peru based on ISO 9001 standards (the only Peruvian company that has it). Always identifying the needs of each of the clients, helping them to highlight their corporate image.

What balance do you make this year?
It has been a great year for us, of growth. We went from a factory of 600 square meters to one of more than 2,000, what speaks of the growth we have achieved and the potential still to develop.

How do you see the Latin American market?
I see it consolidated, safe and with constant growth. We see it, for example, in Peru, a solid market where constant remodeling of the gaming venues takes place. Maybe now a little worried about the issue of the rise of the dollar, but I think it will be something temporary.

Brazil continues to be an agenda item for the sector. How do you see it from Starlight?
We hope that by the end of the year the necessary progress will be made so that finally the green light will be given to the market. The news that comes to us from there is optimistic. I was even told that there will be positive news in the next two months. In any case, between the presidential elections and the end of the year, I hope that by 2019 the opening of the market will become a reality.

If this opening occurs, what market do you imagine for Starlight? Do you see it easy to access?
For us it will be very easy. In Brasil, the experience in the manufacture of signs and lighting projects is highly valued, and we have it to spare.

Do you consider setting up in Brazil once the market is regulated?
We have always considered it. If we have a number of clients that allow us to support an administrative structure, we would do it. It will also serve us for everything that is maintenance, quality control and after-sales service, which is very important and must be done constantly.
