Juan Daurich, president for Latin America

"In Quinel we already hired Brazilian staff in case the country opens its market now"

Quinel is a laboratory that certifies systems, casino games, slots and online gaming that had participation for the third time in SAGSE. Juan Daurich, president for Latin America, talked to GMB and revealed that they trust that Brazil will regularize the gaming market soon, to the point that they already have staff hired for that case: 'Brazil is like a whole continente, and every movement it makes it is observed because its potential is huge.'

GMB - Third presence of Quinel in SAGSE, how did you see the show this year?
Juan Daurich - Well, with visits from various places. For three years Quinel set itself the goal of expanding into the Latin American market, since we are very strong in Europe, but we came to Argentina with the idea of stepping firmly in the region. That is why we understand that SAGSE is one of the most important and key fairs to be known.

Tell the Brazilian public which are the main activities of the company
Quinel is a laboratory that certifies systems, casino games, slots, online gaming, etc. Through the regulators, we precisely generate certifications that can be, through standards such as GLI, GLI 11, 24 or others, or through resolutions made by those same regulators.

How do you see the market today and what future do you imagine?
We are dealing with two realities today. One is the European, where we make certifications and have already been doing a very strong and growing job. And the other is the Latin American market. Today, Colombia is a pioneer in everything related with online gaming. Although they went through a change in their directory and today it is somewhat slower, it always has a huge potential that still interest us and we continue to bet on that market.

Are you are anxiously waiting, like so many others, for Brazil to open its market in order to start working there?
Of course. Brazil is like a whole continente, and every movement it makes it is observed because its potential is huge. Brazil alone is equivalent to almost all of Europe, which is why it is a very interesting market that we hope to open in the short term.

Can you imagine what the management and operation would be like in Brazil? Do you see it complicated or accessible?
In that aspect if the market opens, due to previous experiences, I think it will happen something similar to what we experienced in Colombia and entering will not be so difficult. In fact, at Quinel, we have already hired Brazilian staff to be ready in case the market opens soon, at anytime.
