Federal Representative Silas Freire (PR-PI) presented an amendment proposal to the Parliamentary Front of Public Security asking that at least 10 to 20 % of the funds collected by legalizing gaming activity be destined for the National Public Security Fund.
Silas Freire said that gaming already exists and the country loses too much money that could be collected in taxes, and added that if is legalized it needs to bring immediate benefits in areas of greater popular concern as security.
According to the proposal of the Representative, the National Public Security Fund would receive the resources and will pass to the States so that they can invest on equipment, qualification and improvement of the remuneration of the public security forces.
There are currently two projects in progress for the legalization of gaming in Brazil. PLS 186/14 is waiting for a vote in the Senate plenary and PL 442/91, which was discussed yesterday in public session in the House of Representatives and now awaits voting of urgent request to be then voted by the parliamentarians in plenary.
