The African group of hotels and casinos, Sun International, plans to invest and get in to the Brazilian market after the approval of the law that allows gaming in the country. Besides, Peru is also on the group´s investment list.
Sun international started its immersion in South America merging with Chile Dreams, which the company owns 55% percent. Now, the plans are to expand the business in Peru and seize the opportunity that appears in Brazil to increase the group revenue.
Nowadays, Sun International has 13 properties at the continent scattered in Chile, Colombia, Panama and Peru, what already represents 30% of the revenue generated for the group.
The necessity of investing out of Africa occurred by the difficulty to expand their business in the African continent because of the big competition and the small number of licenses to new casinos comparing to the population number.
Beside the new enterprises on South America, the group intends to invest on the sector of online betting with its company SunBet, but it needs an approval of a law that frees online casinos in South Africa to explore the market in a stronger way.
