The Ministry of Justice wants that 5% of what is collected from taxes from gambling to be destined to the National Public Security Fund. The statement was made by Alexandre de Moraes during a meeting with the members of the Committee on Public Security and Organized Crime Fight.
He also said that the same proposal has already been sent to the Senate and is under negotiations. He also emphasized the importance of the support of Federal Deputies for this cause.
The Minister did not define himself as being in favor or against the legalization of gambling in the country, but has declared that it would be a new source of revenue that should be applied in priorities such as public safety.
