Architect Francisco Lopez wants Brazilian national culture in casinos and bingos

Renowned Argentine architect confirms the expectation for the legalization of gambling in Brazil and says that despite the influence of Las Vegas, local nature should appear in venues.

Francisco Lopez, a partner at the Lopez Bustos office in Buenos Aires, well known for his work in Europe and Latin America, spoke with GamesBras about the architecture of new casinos and bingo halls projects for Brazil after legalization of gambling.

For him, Las Vegas tendencies will be difficult to be avoided, but features of Brazilian national architecture need to be in the new casino projects.

"The image renewal that has been happening in Las Vegas casinos in the recent years will influence everyone; however, people must respect the tradition of color and nature that makes the Brazilian culture."

As for bingos, the architect says that the main focus of the projects must be the comfort and well-being of its customers.

"Bingo halls will need to convey a very festive image and will also have to show a very warm environment because of the long period of time that people can stay there. Each player needs to identify with the place."

Francisco Lopez says that the Argentine businessmen are excited and already know what to look for regarding the legalization of gambling in Brazil.

"There is great expectation in the local market with the new business opportunities that will arise in Brazil, especially because of the opportunity to partner with local entrepreneurs."
