Caesars considers building its first casino in Australia

US-based casino operator Caesars Entertainment is reportedly in talks with the ASF Consortium in regards to its mega resort in the Gold Coast. A US$ 3 billion integrated resort would include a five tower resort and casino at the Spit site, south of SeaWorld.

Last week, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported that Caesar’s president of international development had met with Gold Coast Tourism chairman, Paul Donovan, and the company was currently conducting an "internal feasibility study on whether another large-scale integrated resort could be supported in the Gold Coast market.”

ASF Consortium director Louis Chien told the Gold Coast Bulletin that Caesars was "one of many” world-class casino operators it is in talks with.

In March, the consortium said it was still searching for a "tier one” casino operator and "at least one other cornerstone entity”, despite a detailed submission for the project due to go the State Government in July.

The US$ 3 billion integrated resort would include a five tower resort and casino at the Spit site, south of SeaWorld.

Consultations with the state government finished in April and ASF is now waiting to hear results before submitting detailed designs of its IR plan. "We are confident the consultation will reflect the community’s sentiment and show broad support,” Chien said.
