Operator revenue grew 55% to €147 million, allowing companies to offer €19.6 million worth of bonus offers, enticing in 462,500 players over the first quarter, an increase of 36% year-on-year.
Football wagers generated €465 million, up 34%, and responsible for 55% of the total sports betting total. Betting on tennis reached €163 million, a rise of 26%, and basketball totals revealed total bets of €125 million, a leap of 53% for the sport.
The French online poker market, which had seen significant decline over recent years, reported cash game spending had risen 18%, achieving €1.1 billion, and despite cash game revenue dropping 2% to €24.1 million, tournament fee turnover rose 14% to €594 million.
Online horse racing wagers also grew since Q117, with 2018’s figures revealing a 9% increase to €270 million, leading to an 8% increase in race betting revenue which topped €65 million.
