Argentine Federation announces licensing agreement with Konami

Konami, producer of the Pro Evolution Soccer game, announced an agreement with Argentine football federation, AFA. In this way, the Japanese firm continues in its quest to increase the domain of licenses in Latin America. AFA released a video on its social networks to promote the novelty. “According to our global expansion strategy that we are developing, this deal is strategic and allows us to continue growing,” said AFA’s president, Claudio Tapia.

We are delighted to announce this new partnership with Konami, one of the most important video game companies in the world. Since we took on this management, we have prioritized the digital development of AFA and eSports,” Tapia added

We know and have the clear notion that these agreements are very important to position our brand worldwide, especially among the younger audience, who consume these games and see this as a way to feel close to the Argentine national team. According to the global expansion strategy of the AFA brand that we are developing, this agreement is strategic and allows us to continue growing,” Tapia concluded.

We are very excited about our future together. We will work and explore the different ways to take advantage of our combined experience and enormous global reach to set a new standard in generating football experiences and content for our respective fan bases worldwide,” added Takayuki Kubo, President of Konami Digital Entertainment.

On the continent, Konami already had exclusive agreements with Boca Juniors and River Plate, in addition to Brazilian clubs like Flamengo, São Paulo and Corinthians.

The company recently closed a sponsorship of the Brazilian Championship, even though it already has the right to use the competition's brands in PES. In addition to sponsoring the Brasileirão, Konami and CBF also agreed that they will continue with the Brasileirão licensing in the virtual field. In this way, the championship will be on PES eFootball again.
