Konami steps up in eSports presenting eFootball 2022 with Messi and Neymar as ambassadors

Konami launched globally, this Thursday (30), eFootball 2022, new football game of the Japanese company in eSports that is the successor of Pro Evolution Soccer (PES). Free, the game took two years to develop and was produced for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10 and PC Steam.

To celebrate the launch, Konami created a sequence of online games (“Online Match”) and the event “Worldwide Clubs”. Until November 8th, the “Online Match” campaign will give players the opportunity to win “Chance Deal” contracts based on the number of online matches they play. “Chance Deals” allow players the opportunity to obtain “Legendary” player cards.

The “Worldwide Clubs” special event gives players the opportunity to use their favorite clubs and face off against rivals from around the world. It is possible to play matches with real-life teams online and offline. Online event mode allows users to play against each other in “challenge events”. Each week, players will be able to select from over 200 licensed teams and compete in various challenges to earn points that can be used in the next big update. After selecting their preferred team, the user can only use that team for the entire current event.

Players will also be able to play offline against artificial intelligence (AI) or a friend with nine partner clubs to choose from. In addition, they will also have access to the following six stadiums: Camp Nou, Old Trafford, Allianz Stadium, Emirates Stadium, Allianz Arena and eFootball Stadium.

In the first few hours after release, however, the game was detonated on the internet. Several fans have posted prints on social networks in which players are shown with weird faces, in addition to reporting numerous bugs, such as the disappearance of players and athletes sliding on the field. To give an idea, on a day of release, the game already boasted the worst rating rate among all games on Steam, with less than 9% of public approval, ie, more than 91% rejection.
