Vasco da Gama had already been seeking to increase marketing revenues and the new contract would practically double the one that the club has for its noblest space on the jersey. The contract with BMG, which until now had occupied the chest of the uniform, yielded R$ 4 million (US$735k) for the club. The inancial institution will go to the backof the shirt.
Replacing the bank in the front would come the bookmaker Pixbet, in a contract initially scheduled to run until the end of 2022, for which the company will pay R$9 million (US$1.7m).
By mid-August, Vasco da Gama was close to hitting the hammer with another sports bookmaker, Betano, which ended up not succeeding due to the leak of information. For this reason, the club is not giving statements regarding the new sponsor in order not to run the risk of not closing the agreement.
As the legal and financial aspects are in the final stages, Vasco has not yet commented on the matter and it is also unknown when the new brand will debut in team's games in the B Series of the Brasileirão, in which the club occupies the sixth position. Fans hope that next Sunday 24th, in the game against Náutico, the brand will already be on the athletes' chests.
