They are located on four continents: Europe, North America, South America and Asia. Two of the projects are in Brazil: Ceifar and Viela.

Ana Carolina Gonçalves, Latin America EVP of Cartamundi and CEO of Copag explains: “Lately, there has been a growing need for emotional support. Our fund supports projects that strengthen the mental health of children and adolescents. mentally, we will combat the risk of social isolation."

By supporting sociability, Cartamundi improves social cohesion between generations, cultures and societies. The last pillar is education. The fund also aims to enhance the community feeling of all Cartamundi employees. "We will encourage our colleagues to engage socially," says Carolina.

Next step

Throughout the year, each of the selected projects around the world will receive the financial assistance needed to provide a better future for the next generations in their community. “We also intend to build a long-term relationship with selected organizations in Brazil, for example, through volunteering,” completes the executive.

In Brazil

The projects chosen in Brazil to receive support from the Global Cartamundi Fund are:

Ceifar – The Family Integration Center is a non-profit Civil Society Organization, founded in 1994 by the Belgian nurse Simonne Alice Debouck, who arrived in Brazil with the purpose of working on training and guidance on sexuality and family planning involving adolescents, young people, women and couples.

The project aims to build a recreational park in the Tancredo Neves neighborhood, in Salvador-BA, to educate children through games and activities (outdoors), such as planting seeds and watching the flowers grow. Ceifar also wants to encourage and promote environmental concern as an important basis for the formation of responsible citizens for the future of the planet. Funding from the Fund will help the organization build the park.

Viela Organization – Headquartered in São Paulo, its objective is to offer alternative ways of educating young people and children through learning, culture and sports. The 'Spark Tech Project' gives young people from the Jardim Ibirapuera community, with a high degree of social vulnerability, a perspective for the future by awakening interest in technology through a practical course. Funding from the Fund will be used to pay for teachers, educational tools and materials, and infrastructure, among other things.

The organization was born in 2009, when Anderson “Buiu” felt the need to give back to the world for the social help he received and decided to build a street cinema in front of his house for the children of the community. The involvement and participation of the cinema was incredible, but at the end of the screenings it seemed that something was missing.

That's when the group decided to add a reading excerpt before each session. That's how the project was born, with cultural or sports activities conditioned to the reading of excerpts from books. The combination was what was needed for the project to take off and, with time, reading before the activities is no longer an obligation, but the group consolidated its purpose of providing support and offering a path for the formation of young people and children in Jardim Ibirapuera, in São Paulo. Paulo, providing sports, culture and art activities, creating an impact and entertainment system.
