Rapporteur of the regulatory framework for gambling in Brazil’s Chamber, Federal Deputy Felipe Carreras (PSB-PE) evaluates dividing the text into three major fronts, according to Radar section, published by Veja.
The first would be the regulation of federal concessions for the creation of resort casinos in the country. The famous luxury hotels that house all types of leisure and games in one place.
To his allies, Carreras has said that these structures are great vectors of international tourism and could practically double the foreign public in Brazil.
The second part of the text under study deals with the taxation of online gambling, a billion-dollar market that today drains the country's resources to platforms operating in countries where gambling has been regulated.
Carreras also intends to take a hard look at issues related to jockey clubs. There are eleven in Brazil. The idea is that these structures are expanded with new game modes.
Aware of the resistance of some sectors of Parliament to the text, the rapporteur intends to bring to the discussion, according to allies, a proposal that contemplates the adoption of public policies to fight corruption and stimulate tourism and culture in the states. For this, investment funds would be created funded by resources from the gaming regulation.
Carreras' text should also provide that only the federal government will act in the concession of gaming houses across the country. A gaming regulatory agency must also be created to ensure that things go within the law.
