According to Dr. Lauri, this lottery is intended to be an “alternative measure for the recovery of the local economy.”
He recalls that the project of Governor Ratinho Jr. (PSD) for the creation of the so-called Lotepar, which would become the official lottery of the State of Paraná, is already under discussion in the Legislative Assembly.
“Timely, in September 2020 the Supreme Court (STF) understood that states and municipalities can explore this type of service provision. But it makes it clear that the destination of fundraising needs to have specific objects,” explains Dr. Lauri in the justification for the indication.
According to his proposal, the funds from the lottery would be applied mainly to actions in the areas of sport and culture.
