According to the official information released by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, revenue dropped a mere 0.7% from August, essentially keeping level from month to month.
The September revenue report marked a 28.5% increase over the same month of 2020. Of the US$1.16bn, US$780.5m came from slots, up 28.5% from last year. Tables games drew US$377.6m, an increase of 76.8%.
Among table games, blackjack and baccarat were top performers, drawing US$92.2m and US$83.6m in revenue, respectively, with baccarat revenue up almost 500% from September 2020.
Sports betting saw a boost thanks to the beginning of the NFL season. Total sports betting revenue reached US$54.2m, up 64.6% year-on-year. Mobile betting was responsible for approximately 31% of that revenue, clocking in at US$16.7m. Sports handle totaled a record US$786.7m, gleaned from total revenue of US$54.2m and a win percentage of 6.89%.
The NFL’s impact was clearly visible in September’s revenue report, as 67% of sports betting revenue came from football wagers, totaling US$36.3m. Baseball achieved a distant second place, logging US$12.2m and representing roughly 22% of sports betting revenue.
Clark County, home to Las Vegas, predictably generated the most revenue of any county in the state at US$1.0bn.
