In November 2020, the Central Bank authorized lottery games to be paid for by PIX, the new Brazilian instant payment system, when it enabled lottery accounts in the system.
As it was up to each unit to accept or reject receipt by PIX, the payment method created by the Central Bank took longer than expected to take hold on the lottery network, which is why Caixa Loterias launched the campaign to receive payment for bets with PIX.
At last meeting between Caixa and the Brazilian Federation of Lottery Companies (Febralot), the PIX system entered the agenda of topics, when the entity pointed out that more than 130 thousand transactions have been carried out since the release of the payment method for the lottery network at the units' terminals. Even so, Caixa reinforced the importance of mass use of the system. So much so that in order to collaborate with the network and increase its use, in addition to the new video, CEF delivered several differentiated publicity materials encouraging the use of the payment method created by the Central Bank.
