To make the Nomination, Deputy Gilmar Carvalho based the decision of the STF that, in September 2020, unanimously decided that the Union has no monopoly to maintain lottery games, which can also be created and operated by the states, provided that comply with federal regulation.
According to the Indication, the proceeds from the Lottery in the State of Sergipe should finance actions aimed at culture, the environment, social inclusion and assistance, as well as reducing economic vulnerability in the State.
The new proposal should be incorporated into the Ordinary Bill 218/21, sent by the state Executive to the Legislative Assembly at the end of September, already approved by thematic committees of the House.
