Johnny Ortiz: "BiS brings quality information to a Brazilian market that needs legalization now"

With all the property of those who know the Brazilian market in depth, Johnny Ortiz, president and founder of Zitro, will be present at upcoming Brazilian iGaming Summit (BiS). Zitro offers a wide range of slots and videobingo to land-based and online casinos on five continents and can make a difference in BiS through its experience and knowledge of Brazil. “We’ll reinforce once again that those who are against legal gambling are in favor of illegal betting. Brazil needs to legalize the sector in order to have the benefits of serious economic activity”, he says.

Zitro is one of the most renowned companies in the gaming sector in the world, with a strong Brazilian DNA. It was born to conquer the world with the end of the bingo activity in Brazil and today it is a reference in the five continents, operating in more than 40 countries, under strict rules and certifications. For this reason and for its successful trajectory, nothing more natural than having the company present at the Brazilian iGaming Summit and Johnny Ortiz, its founder, as a speaker.

A face-to-face event with the BiS proposal is essential to bring quality information to a market that is being born and to discuss the regulation of sports betting, as well as debating the legalization of other verticals,” comments Johnny.

For the entrepreneur, discussions are always welcome to strengthen a market that should become one of the largest in the world. “And the dissemination of BiS in the media is there to reinforce what I always say and repeat: those who are against legal gambling are in favor of illegal gambling,” he defends.

On the panel on “Game Providers”, he will bring to the audience the entire experience of a winning company, which today occupies a prominent position worldwide in land-based casinos and bingos and has a strong penetration in the online world. Ortiz comments that it is not yet possible to talk about the Brazilian market, as sports betting has not yet been regulated, and other verticals still do not have a specific law.

Johnny says he sees this with sadness, “since we are leaving more than 1 million workers without a formal contract at such a difficult time for Brazil.” For him, it is high time for Brazil to face the issue from an economic point of view and provide legal certainty for the creation of a sector with a high capacity for investment and generation of employment, income and taxes.

"Brazil was the country where I started and being Brazilian I would very much like to contribute as much as possible to the growth of this market, but with some very important details such as legal security and compliance as happens in all other countries in the world."

The businessman shares the same opinion as many players in the international market that Brazil is closer than ever to regulation for the sector. “Hope is the last thing you lose, and I would like to believe that, but for that I would also have to believe that our politicians really care about Brazil and make a well-made law,” he concludes.

All about the Brazilian iGaming Summit (BiS)

Due to the health crisis, several events, trade shows and congresses had to be postponed or even canceled throughout 2020 and 2021; however, with the advance of immunization across the country, things are slowly returning to normality. Thus, the Brazilian iGaming Summit (BiS) will take place at Espaço Boulevard JK, in São Paulo, on December 1st and 2nd with the strategic partnership of Games Magazine Brasil, and will be attended by investors and entrepreneurs from diferente sectors such as sports betting, communication, affiliates, lotteries and regulators. For the first time, it will take place in a hybrid model, with real-time broadcasts and big screens spread throughout the conference space.

To ensure the safety of guests, event organizers will respect all recommended health safety protocols. With this, BiS will be the return point of in-person events for the gaming sector in Brazil and a great opportunity to connect entrepreneurs of the gaming market to the country's political personalities and actors involved in the regulation process. They will discuss and analyze what will be the next steps to pass legislation for the sector, and what are the trends for the development of this market in Brazil.
