Alexandre Tauszig presented Skilrock, a leading Indian company in several countries in Asia and Africa in the lottery area. “Now we are in Latin America and especially in Brazil, a region that is booming and with its own characteristics. Everyone should be aware, when implementing their state lotteries, to look for companies with worldwide recognition and with the main certifications available, such as those from the WLA and Cibelae,” he recommended.
According to the executive, it is important that technology providers and payment methods know the peculiarities of Brazil and the local culture. “That way, they will be able to specialize and better position themselves to offer customized and tropicalized solutions,” he said.
Sergio Alvarenga commented that best practices for a state lottery in Brazil involve experience with the target audience and technology to meet the demands and requirements of the government so that all operational and profitability requirements are met. “It has been very pleasing to see the receptivity of the Minas Gerais population to our lottery products. They know that the resources stay in the state and are applied in the social area. We are always investing in technology to offer more and more security in our operation,” he commented.
Tauszig stated that Bolivia and Costa Rica are massively publicizing the importance of lotteries for good causes. “We don't see this much from the Union, but we are already seeing that the states are following another path and showing their local populations that social assistance is the reason for a lottery's existence. That's why I reinforce that the state lotteries must do this to win more and more of their customers.”
The executive commented that safety and clear rules are essential for the lottery business to be a success. “The state must be aware of this, as society needs reliable products and has to demonstrate to society that this is the path being pursued. We have a huge market ahead of us. We cannot take steps back. All achievements cannot be lost,” said Tauszig.
Sérgio Alvarenga was asked by Brasil Fernandes about the implementation of municipal lotteries and how Intralot understands this position. The CEO of the company commented that the firm is focused on the states to carry out its investments.
“We understand that our company's priorities for investment are in this aspect. From an economic point of view, it is very difficult to separate a state lottery from a municipal lottery. The important thing is to strengthen the state lotteries to be created and that they publicize all the social actions they carry out, as we are doing in Minas Gerais,” he said.
At the end of his presentation, Tauszig suggested that all those interested in operating in Brazil “look for local experts, whether in the areas of technology, legal and worldwide recognized certifications, so that they can enter the country correctly.”
Alvarenga concluded that “the best practices must be sought based on international experience for successful operations in the states. Companies must have solidity and certifications so that the states can be sure that they are partnering with companies committed to the activity.”
