Next Monday, December 20, the last seminar of the year of OAB/DF Gambling Law Commission will take place, which will discuss “Compliance and Responsible Gambling Practices”. The theme is very favorable, especially given the fact that Brazil is finalizing the project to regulate sports betting in the country and working towards the approval of a legal framework for other gaming verticals.
According to Filipe Senna, Deputy General Secretary of the Gaming Commission and webinar mediator, “the seminar contemplates the growing concern of the gaming industry regarding the adoption of practices that encourage Responsible Gaming and the good relationship between players and their favorite modalities.”
According to him, the topic is particularly relevant with the inclusion in the 11th Edition of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-11), adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) from 2022.
The Seminar will feature a vision of one of the main members of the sector in Latin America, renowned professionals who work and research gaming and technologies and a specialist in the health area of behavioral disorders.
This compliance and responsible gaming authority is GLI Vice President Karen Sierra-Hughes, who will deliver all her expertise on the subject to the webinar. In addition to her outstanding presence at the seminar, Karen's participation further demonstrates the attention that GLI has been given to the Brazilian market.
After appointing, for the first time in the company's history, an executive to work in the area of Government Relations and Business Development in the country (Valter Delfraro Jr.), GLI was also present at the Brazilian iGaming Summit, when the executive demonstrated all his knowledge on the country and had the opportunity to exchange experiences on compliance and responsible gaming.
The speakers confirmed for the 7th Seminar of "The Rules of Gaming", with the theme "Compliance and Responsible Gaming Practices", are Karen Sierra-Hughes, from GLI; Renato Andrade, lawyer specializing in responsible gaming and member of the Commission; Thainá Rodrigues, psychologist specialist in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Behavior Disorders; and Thiago L. Sombra, lawyer and professor at the University of Brasília. Filipe Senna, Deputy Secretary General of the OAB/DF Gaming Law Commission, will mediate the webinar.
The webinar can be followed next Monday (20), at 7 pm, by zoom. The meeting ID is 820 3907 1018.
