GMB – Please, explain us what PIPA Games offers to the industry?
André Schuartz - We are a live casino provider that integrates with several operators and offers exclusive live gaming content. Today we have two studios, one for roulette and one for bingo.
As a game provider especially for online casinos, do you follow the process of regulating the activity in Brazil? Do you believe this can further encourage PIPA Games?
I believe that legalization and regulation will only make our market grow. We are a content producer, so we are not working towards regulation, but we believe that with the organization of this market we will have more Brazilian players and, as we are focused on Brazil, our demand will certainly grow.
Live casino sessions within online gaming operators have been growing with increasing strength and generally without a specific look for each region they serve. As a national company, does PIPA seek to provide a regionalized service, with the Brazilian way, to its clients?
PIPA Games lives and breathes regionalization. That's why we thought of doing what we call tropicalized studios. We understand the Brazilian public, what they like, their aptitude for the game and we bring a type of attraction that is well known by casino operators with a different approach where dealers have a greater interaction, it seems less mechanized and, thus, our difference is in the type of presentation.
PIPA Games is a new company, founded in the midst of the worst moment of the pandemic in which many businesses ended up failing. How was it for you to start this project at such a difficult time for the entire world?
I once heard or read somewhere the following sentence: “the ox that goes ahead will always drink the best water.” To walk ahead, it is necessary to clear a little bush; stumble over some branches, but when water is found, it is the purest. I've always had an entrepreneurial streak to create, invent, try to be different and invest in times when few are doing it. It's something that is in my DNA and what I believe: when everyone is buying, you can believe that it will fall and depreciate; and when everyone else sells together, it's time you can buy for a lower price. PIPA came at a time when everyone was taking their time and I understood that for us to stay alive and stand out, it was time to innovate, do things differently and think outside the box. So, this idea was born.
Was having a stand at the BIS - Brazilian iGaming Summit important to you? What evaluation do you make of the event, what was it possible to learn about live casinos and what paths do you intend to take?
It was a fantastic event, our first live after eight months with the company. I had no idea what it could be, but I was impressed by the number of people interested in our service and wanting to know more about PIPA. This is a market that moves a lot, has the potential for much more, however it is still organized by a very small number of players.
When talking about live casino studios, we remember one, two, maybe three, but this one must be from the live studios area, not exactly games. If we take a betting provider, he tells you the name of a company, if he mentions two, the second must be part of the same group. So, it is a market with huge potential, but centralized and in the hands of a few. Our idea is to do things differently: we don't want to look ahead and see what they're doing, but look to the side and follow another path.
