Chamber approves allocation of lottery funds to Paralympic sports in Brazil

Deputies approved in Plenary yesterday (15) Bill 1953/21 that allocates to Paralympic sport part of the collection of lotteries of predictions, such as Mega-Sena. The Bill amends Law 13756/18, which allocated amounts collected by Lotex, whose implementation was impaired due to the non-signature of the privatization contract for this lottery modality.

Bill 1953/21 distributes resources for the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC). From the 0.5% to which it is entitled from the prediction lotteries, such as Mega-Sena and Quina, the CBC will get 0.46% and the CBCP will receive 0.04%.

The bill was approved this Wednesday night (15) by the Plenary of the Chamber of Deputies, in a symbolic vote based on the understanding of parliamentarians for the approval of the topic.

The CBPC has the attribution to promote public policies for the Paralympic segment and expected Lottex's revenue collection to meet its core activity. As Lotex did not prosper, the entity got the support of Senator Carlos Viana, who presented the project to transfer part of the revenue from Caixa's prediction lotteries to the CBPC.

Reported by senator and former football player Romário, the bill was approved in November by the Senate and this Wednesday it was discussed at the House Plenary. By symbolic vote, they signed the document originating from the Senate.

Now, the bill returns to the Senate due to the modifications of the percentages, as previously the funds would come from Lotex's resources.
