The conversation of the experts began by addressing the importance of using cloud storage technology for the gaming market. Gilson Banin, from Microsoft, listed some positive points of this practice.
“It's important to be aware of the scope of cloud use because online gaming is not restricted to a single country. Anyone who invests in such a platform wants to reach millions of players. The big cloud providers have a presence on five continents and this allows the player to have a fast experience without delay,” comments Banin.
“The main benefit is the security itself, because when you hire a cloud service, you are no longer 100% responsible for your platform, but sharing the environment and its responsibility with the provider,” he added.
Leonardo Baptista, from Pay4Fun, revealed data indicating that cyber crimes grew 320% between February 2020 and August 2021, showing how important this subject is to everyone's life: “Businesses and people are increasingly digital, so this makes us more exposed and at the same time more vulnerable. There is a study that shows that every day we have more than 10,000 new vulnerabilities in technology. Cybercrime has the facility to carry out an attack from anywhere in the world."
"We, Brazilians, have a digital police very well served, but digital crime has the advantage of using increasingly advanced techniques and now also the tendency of criminals to influence your collaborators and facilitate movements within your company,” added Baptista.
Banin also highlighted the importance of investing in the professional qualification of those who work in the area of digital security. “Not just in Brazil, but all over the world, qualified professionals cannot be found to meet the demand that the market is having. So much so that the big cloud providers, Microsoft is one of them, have been training for free analysts, technicians and managers.”
The last subject discussed by the speakers was the General Law for the Protection of Personal Data, which came into force recently in Brazil. For Baptista, it has brought power to companies, even though there has been no sanctions and it needs to be studied.
"I recommend that everyone consider this issue and has an office specializing on the topic because the law needs to be translated since it was made for the technological world," Baptista concluded.
