Vasco is getting ready to compete in the São Paulo Junior Football Cup in January 2022. With that, the club announced that PixBet, which is already a master sponsor in professional football, will print the under-20 uniform at Copinha. The most famous competition of Brazilian football's youth divisions will be held between January 2nd and 25th.
The Vascaine base is part of Group 24, which is headquartered in the municipality of Santana do Parnaíba (SP). The team will debut against Lagarto-SE, at 11am, on January 5th. Three days later, at 2 pm, the opponent will be Rio Claro-SP. To complete the first phase, the Meninos da Colina will face SKA Brasil-SP, on the 11th, at 5:15 pm.
The team is continuing its preparations and will train for five days at the Olympic Village in Duque de Caxias, which is also home to the Vasco Women's Football TC, with synthetic grass. This differential will be important, since the Municipal Stadium of Santana do Parnaíba was recently renovated and also has this type of grass.
Gigante da Colina won the competition in 1992, when they defeated São Paulo in the decision, on penalties. The cast had names like Pimentel, Leandro Ávila and Valdir Bigode. The group reached the final on two occasions: in 1999, when they were overtaken by Corinthians, and in 2019, when they lost to São Paulo, on penalties.
