Luis Alberto Sadalla, Wynn & Encore representative in the country

“It is about time that we take a broad vision on opening a casino in Brazil”

This week, renowned Brazilian journalists Beetto Saad and Napoleão de Almeida welcome Luis Alberto Sadalla, exclusive representative of Wynn & Encore, Casino de Monaco and Enjoy in the country, to talk about investments in poker tournaments that are increasingly consolidated in Brazil, expansion of business with tourism, and generation of employment opportunities with the opening of casinos in Brazil. Watch the vídeo (in Portuguese).

Sadalla is one of the most qualified Brazilians supporters for the reopening of casinos. He has arguments and research on how much the country loses in jobs, taxes, occupations-jobs, showbiz, entertainment, with this reluctance to reopen the hotel-casino industry.

“Las Vegas is a city in the middle of the desert, with a 6 km avenue, the Strip, which receives 40 million tourists. See the biodiversity we have in Brazil. This is wonderful. See Mato Grosso and the entire Northeast region. It is possible to develop these regions. Just look at the example of Punta del Este, which was a city before Conrad and another one after Conrad, which today is Enjoy, and what it brought in with resources with just one casino,” says the entrepreneur.

For Sadalla, many people are opining negatively on the legalization of casinos without even doing a case study. He warns that there are mechanisms to protect the player and the population as a whole.

“It's past time to have this broad vision in relation to openness. It is a shame to see that this discussion goes and doesn't. People who sketch out some opinion about money laundering and other things that happen. There is a form of control, with a commission, which requires you to make a previous registration,” he explains.

“It's like a bank and everything is controlled and you need to fill in all the data and have a personal account. It's all absolutely legal, with everything adjusted and taxation. It's something more regulated than a bank to take out a loan,” he added.

“To play in a casino is the same thing. You have to introduce yourself, have an account and say where the money comes from. So, this image that people talk about is false, because they don't exactly have an exact idea of the situation. It's past time to have the opening,” concludes the businessman who represents the casinos Enjoy (Punta del Este), Wynn-Encore (Las Vegas) and Casino de Monte Carlo, in Brazil.
