Carol de Toni launches consultation on Twitter

Overwhelming majority supports gaming legalization in Brazil according to a deputy's survey

Brazilian Federal Deputy Carol de Toni (SC), deputy leader of the PSL in the Chamber of Deputies, launched a survey on her Twitter profile on the legalization of gaming in the country. In her @CarolDeToni account, the parliamentarian asks: “Are you in favor or against the legalization of casinos, jogo do bicho, bingos and other games of chance in Brazil?”. Until 9 am this Wednesday (8), 75.4% of internet users were in favor of the activity and 24.6% against the release, in a total of 17,375 votes.

The survey by Congresswoman Carol de Toni (PSL-SC) comes at an important time for the sector, since this week the rapporteur of the Working Group of Gaming, Congressman Felipe Carreras (PSB-PE), will deliver the final document that revises Bill 442/91 and which proposes the legalization of all types of gaming verticals. The president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), intends to put to a vote still this year the project that legalizes the gaming sector and the research can strengthen the position of the House in favor of the measure.

Until 9 am this Wednesday (8), 17,375 votes were counted, with an overwhelming majority in favor of legalizing gaming in Brazil. Of the total votes, 75.4% of them are in favor of approval and 24.6% against.

Caroline de Toni was born in Chapecó, SC, graduated in Law from the Community University of the Chapecó Region (Unochapecó) and has a master's degree in Public Law from Centro Universitário Estácio de Santa Catarina. In 2016 she ran for councilor of Chapecó for the PP, having achieved the 1st substitute for the party in the municipality with 1589 votes.

In 2018 she migrated with Jair Bolsonaro to the PSL and became vice president of her party in Santa Catarina.

In her first year as a federal deputy, Caroline De Toni was elected Third Vice-Chairman of the Chamber's Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJC), where she was the rapporteur of the Second Instance Prison PEC, joined the Fake News CPMI and became deputy government leader in the Chamber.

In the 2018 elections, she was elected federal deputy for Santa Catarina, by the Liberal Social Party (PSL), with 109363 votes, the highest vote among elected women in Santa Catarina and the lowest cost per vote of all those elected to federal deputy in the state.

The result of the survey is very promising at the moment, since the Congress is very sensitive to society's opinion on issues relevant to the country. Many deputies base their votes after following poll results from the media and fellow parliamentarians.

Interesting in the survey, in addition to the result itself, is the number of retweets (596), which means that numerous internet users forwarded the survey to their own profiles to reinforce the survey carried out by the deputy. Carol de Toni's tweet has already received 1,504 likes up to 9 am.
