Peru’s casinos forced to close again from January 31

Peru President Francisco Sagasti has ordered most of the country’s casinos and slot halls to shut again from January 31 as the number of COVID-related deaths hit 40,107. Casinos located in the extreme and very high levels of contagion levels must shut completely, whilst those in high level can operate at a capacity of 30 percent and can only be open between 9pm and 4am. Gaming properties in the capital city of Lima must all close.

After the Christmas and New Year’s Eve festivities, daily infections increased from 1,000 to more than 5,000.

Casinos located in the extreme and very high levels of contagion levels must shut completely whilst those in high level can operate at a capacity of 30 percent and can only be open between 9 and 4.
