"The eSports market is currently accredited as one of the fastest growing sports segments in the world. Studies point to more than three billion players around the globe, moving investments that exceed US$ 1.6 billion per year," points out Eduardo Toni , Executive Marketing Director of Sao Paulo.
The first official event of Sao Paulo eSports is already scheduled. From February 12th, the ‘Tricolor’ will compete in the eGol, PES championship organized jointly by Konami and Grupo Globo. In this tournament, however, the players who will defend each club will be defined through a draft (order of choice).
Last year, Sao Paulo was the first Brazilian club to have a confirmed partnership with the Pro Evolution Soccer season update.
Konami started the series of announcements about the clubs that would be licensed exclusively in PES 2021 and the first winner among Brazilian clubs was Sãa Paulo, whose announcement took place in August 2020. In addition to the impressive details of the Morumbi Stadium, the images also show Daniel Alves wearing shirt 10 and the captain's belt of the ‘Tricolor’.
