Rio de Janeiro will host the I World Congress of Responsible Gaming

In 2019, during the CIBELAE Congress held in Costa Rica, the organization of the first Responsible Gaming World Congress began to take shape between the World Lottery Association (WLA) and the Corporación Iberoamericana de Loterías y Apuestas del Estado (CIBELAE). If the pandemic that plagues the planet and the sanitary conditions allow it, the event would take place in of Rio de Janeiro, from November 17 to 19.

During 2020, both the WLA, as well as CAIXA and CIBELAE, held several virtual meetings in order to organize this important event for the lottery activity. Already at the CIBELAE Congress held in Costa Rica, the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro was suggested as a possible venue.

Now, it is confirmed that, If the pandemic that plagues the planet and the sanitary conditions allow it, the event would take place in the city of Rio de Janeiro, from November 17 to 19. It should be noted that the organizers will also have to wait how the coronavirus continues to affect Brazil, one of the countries most affected in the region and in the world by the novel coronavirus.  

Prior to the Responsible Gaming Congress, both the WLA and CIBELAE will hold their Executive Committee and Board of Directors meeting, respectively, ending the first day of work with the CIBELAE Annual Assembly.

Likewise, work is being done on the organization of a Fair or Exhibition Area parallel to the training activities of the Congress.

“From CIBELAE, we highlight the joint work that in recent months we have developed not only with the WLA, but also with CAIXA, in order to organize seminars based on common problems, and that especially in these times of pandemic, do not distinguish borders or continents,” states the entity.
