In 2020, due to the beginning of the pandemic in Brazil, the Stars Game, the NBB version of the NBA's All-Star Game, needed to be canceled, as well as the entire NBB season. The 2019/2020 championship had no champion. This year, the event will be held on March 19 and 20, at Tijuca Tennis Club, one of the most traditional basketball gyms in Rio de Janeiro.
For this 2021 edition of the ‘Jogo das Estrelas’, the league will debut a new, innovative format with four teams. Until the last edition, played in 2019, the event was closed with a game between NBB Brasil and NBB Mundo, that is, confrontation of a team of national players against another with foreign stars of the championship. This year, the Stars Game will have two teams from NBB Brazil ("Team Brabo, by Alex Garcia" and "Team Marquinhos"), NBB Mundo ("Team Shamell") and NBB Novas Estrelas ("Team Georginho").
Betmotion Skills Tournaments
With streaming from Betmotion’s Facebook, ESPN (pay TV), NBB’s Facebook and Twitch, the Betmotion Skills tournament will have eight athletes competing. The tournament will be played again in the exciting one-on-one format.
The circuit has four stages: the first will be a zigzag with four obstacles. Then, the athletes will make a direct pass within an arc. Then, they will cross the court and make a tray or slam dunk and, finally, return to the starting point and finish with a 3-point shot. In direct confrontations, the two competitors will make the course at the same time. Whoever finishes first, wins and progresses to the next stage.
Special editions of NBBet!
An hour before Betmotion Skills, there will be a special edition of the NBBet show! on NBB's Facebook. Among the guests, will be the champion in the first three editions of the tournament, in 2011, 2012 and 2013, Fernando Penna.
Commanded by journalist Bruno Laurence, former TV Globo and FOX Sports, this live will also have Fernando Fischer, twice champion of the 3 Points and Angelo Alberoni, Country Manager of Betmotion. And there will be a new edition before the mini-games that close the event.
‘Jogo das Estrelas’ 2021
The Star Game 2021 duels will take place this Saturday (20), at 4pm, with live broadcast of TVs Culture and ESPN. Betmotion, one of the sponsors of the 2020/2021 season of the NBB and content partner of the Stars Game, will have the exclusivity of the event for streaming.
The action will have the active participation of an “infiltrator”, the ex-player, influencer, and ambassador of Betmotion, Douglas “Ninja” Viegas. The broadcast will be through the ‘Nunca Mexa’ channel on Twitch (twitch.tv/nuncamexa) and on the official NBB’s Facebook page.
During the mini-games, Ninja will interact with the captains, while they are in action on the court, answering questions from both the influencer and the fans. For that, Alex Garcia and Marquinhos (from the two teams NBB Brasil), Shamell (NBB Mundo) and Georginho (NBB Novas Estrelas) will be properly microphoned to be activated by Ninja.
