It is not today that the turf sector calls for some government intervention for the subsistence of its activities. We, part of the turf sector, know the number of jobs that this activity produces throughout Brazil.
Countries that are much smaller than ours (see Uruguay), manage to survive and maintain the production chain, since their leaders allow the exploitation of the so-called games of chance, something that in addition to generating more jobs, yields profits for both equestrian clubs and the government itself.
In Brazil, government enters and government leaves, the project of legalization of the said games of chance always ends up succumbing, leaving the impression of total disregard for the turf activity and all its surroundings, since that measure could, who knows, bring back the heyday of the kings' sport, not to mention the creation of thousands of jobs and revenue for the public coffers.
The great truth is that there are parliamentary benches for almost all segments, but when it comes to turf they can't get together, they seem satisfied, each one defending their "beliefs".
In 2018, Brazil began the process of regulating online sports betting, the so-called fixed-odd bets, with Bill 13.756 / 2018. Since then, this type of gambling is no longer illegal in the country, but it still lacks regulation. Even so, most of these sites today sponsor several clubs and sports broadcasters, but the turf sector, for now, remains forgotten.
There are also bets on Whatsapp groups, something that ends up causing a big lag in the Jockeys Clubs general betting movement. Especially in this year of pandemic, this type of bet has become a fever, and today countless people make it a business.
As far as is known, the JCRGS is the only one that sought a way to legalize these groups. The difficult thing is to understand those who refuse to share the commission, since the club pays and performs the show. So, it gets difficult, they will end up killing the goose that lays golden eggs!!!!!
