The fiscal abyss that awaits Brazil in the coming years and a scenario of economic crisis aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic, rekindled the need to debate on a theme that divides opinions: the legalization of gambling in the country, with the construction of casinos in hotels -resorts, and the release of games of chance in general, such as jogo do bicho, slots and bingos.
Therefore, the president of the Chamber of Deputies Tourism Commission and coordinator of the Parliamentary Front for the Approval of the Regulatory Framework for Gambling in Brazil, federal deputy Bacelar (Pode-BA) participated yesterday (22) in 'Gambling Legalization in Brazil' Live with lawyer Maurício Vasconcelos on Instagram.
Since assuming the presidency of CTur, Bacelar has reaffirmed that the approval of the Regulatory Framework for Gambling will improve the Brazilian economy, generate 700 thousand direct and indirect jobs, increase the collection of public coffers and promote tourism. For him, the legalization of all types of gambling can help the country to come out of the crisis, especially in the post-pandemic period.
“The regularization of gambling activities has been discussed in Congress for almost three decades. It is time to put hypocrisy aside and regularize the situation in the sector. The bet is a reality. The lottery, online gaming are clear examples of this. We will show society and parliament that it is, indeed, important for the country's economy,” said Bacelar.
