Rio’s Hipodromo da Gávea to hold races without public from today due to new COVID wave

Considering the aggravation of the pandemic in the State of Rio de Janeiro, the President of the Brazilian Jockey Club, Raul Lima Neto, and the President of the Racing Commission, Luiz Eduardo Frias de Oliveira, establish temporary measures for the emergency and prevention of the contagion of COVID-19, effective as of today (23). Only jockeys and apprentices, trainers, specific staff, and autonomous veterinarians with registered horses will be allowed to attend the race.

1) The entry of Partners, Owners, Breeders, relatives, and relatives of professionals in the turf activity, Riding Agents, the general public and anyone outside the activity in the areas of Hipódromo da Gávea is prohibited.

2) Only the presence in the areas of the races will be allowed, that is, the Professionals' Tribune, Racing Veterinary (VETCORR) and Paddock: Jockeys and Apprentices with riding commitment, Trainers, Grooms, and Autonomous Veterinarians with horses registered under their responsibilities.

3) Any movement of people through other areas of Hipódromo da Gávea and any type of agglomeration is also prohibited, respecting the distance rules and all other safety protocols established by the ‘Regras de Ouro’ (Golden Rules).

4) The use of protective masks is mandatory in ALL dependencies of Hipódromo da Gávea, whether during race hours or during morning work hours. In case of noncompliance, the professional of the race will be subject to a fine, as regulated by Art. 186 and 187 of the National Racing Code.

RULES OF FUNCTIONING OF HIPÓDROMO DA GÁVEA

(A) Access to races
Only the professionals who will work in the races will be allowed, that is, Jockeys, Apprentices, Trainers, Grooms, Autonomous Veterinarians with responsibility for registered animals - with the exception of the members of the Racing Commission and employees involved. After the activities that have justified the presence of the professional are concluded, the professional must leave the racetrack in a maximum of 30 (thirty) minutes. Club members, horse owners, breeders, riding agents and the general public will not be permitted to enter the JCB facilities.

(B) Jockeys and Apprentices
Professionals with a commitment to ride must show up at the racetrack at regular times to register the first weigh-in of the day. Immediately after admission, they must present themselves at the Medical Service in order to assess the clinical conditions and check the temperature.

(C) Coaches
Only one of those responsible for the registered animal, will be able to attend the racecourse, preferably, the Trainer. If it is impossible to attend, authorization from a substitute must be requested from the Secretariat of the Racing Commission (e-mail [email protected] or WhatsApp (21) 99626-7410). If there are several inscriptions linked to a trainer in the day's schedule, the animals registered must be represented by the same professional. The trainer registered at another racetrack must appoint a local representative to act in relation to the registered animals, which must be presented in the area of ​​Veterinary Racing (VETCORR), 45 (forty-five) minutes before the scheduled time for the respective race. The tolerance time will be a maximum of 15 (fifteen) minutes. It will be the Coach's obligation to monitor the collection of biological material for the anti-doping exam and then sign the identification tags, as per Art.47 - letter m and Art. 170 - letter a of the CNC.

(D) Saddlers Assistants
They must wear the respective badges, demonstrating that they are registered with SCC and the Administration of Horse Villages.

(E) Autonomous Veterinarians
They must carry the respective identification badges.

(F) Bets / Payment
