The agreement reinforces KTO's strategy of supporting Brazilian regional teams with great growth potential. “In this case, we still have the added advantage of linking our brand to a region that is nationally recognized for the high-quality standard of everything it produces and gets involved. The direct, pragmatic and friendly manner in which the negotiation was conducted already shows us the seriousness of the people and reflects the personality of the project,” explains Cássio Filter, brand manager for the Brazilian market, reinforcing that the sponsorship reiterates the interest in collaborating with the development of sport in the interior of Santa Catarina.
The Blumenau women's basketball team was created in 1977 by Prof. Álvaro Portugal de Oliveira and has won more than 100 titles throughout its history. “We are very happy; I am sure it will be a successful and lasting partnership. We have a solid and constantly growing project, which gains even more momentum with the agreement. Our goal is to make all the stages of the competition always looking for the best result. We know that we will face very strong and well-structured teams, but we are sure that we can go far,” vibrates João Camargo, the team's coach.
“The arrival of KTO opens up a range of possibilities for us, including hiring an American player. Our team is already very competent, even so, good reinforcements are always welcome,” plans Allan Mattos, president of KTO / Blumenau. He also points out that the master sponsorship arrived at a good time. "Sport in Brazil is very expensive and getting investment in times of a pandemic is not easy, even more so in a frank and transparent negotiation as it was with KTO," he highlights.
Blumenau and basketball
With about 370 thousand inhabitants, Blumenau is famous for the production of crystals and textile articles. In sports, the connection with basketball is strong. It is worth mentioning that it was in the city that Tiago Splitter was born. The athlete served as a player in the NBA for seven seasons and is now part of the Brooklyn Nets coaching staff. Who also left his mark on the court was his sister, Michelle. The talented pivot stood out a lot throughout her career and came to play for the Brazilian team. Her promising career was interrupted by leukemia when she was 19 years old.
