Online gaming has been growing, positioning itself in the global market and Latin America is no exception. The context derived from the COVID-19 pandemic reaffirmed the need to add this modality to the product portfolio together with the digitization of lottery processes in order to guarantee business continuity under standards that allow for the preservation of security, integrity and reliability of operations.
The digital environment has proven to be essential to sustain activities that, until recently and even knowing its progress, delayed the transition towards this transformation. However, given the urgency of the need, the society seeks to adapt at an accelerated pace a new model of life, assuming that the digital frontier always goes a little further. This scenario opens up new opportunities for development, revolutionizing the known way of operating.
The before and after of the health emergency in everyday life also affects the lottery sector, where it is essential to have a guide to know how to carry out the modernization processes.
In this framework, WLA and CIBELAE have organized an online event in which lotteries from Europe and Latin America will share their experiences and provide inputs on issues of digitization, business continuity and security.
Members of the WLA Security and Risk Management Committee will also participate in the event to present the new security certification standard, the WLA-SCS: 2020, talk about specific examples of certification, and answer questions about the security program of the WLA.
The event is only for WLA and CIBELAE members and takes place on April 14 and 15 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm (Sao Paulo time) on the first day, and from 12:30pm to 2:00pm on the second day. It will be developed in Spanish and Portuguese.
On the second day, Itamar de Carvalho Pereira, member of the WLA SRMC and Technical Advisor of the Ministry of Economy of Brazil, will participate at 1:00pm (Sao Paulo time) in the panel “The WLA-SCS 2020 certification, dialogue with the committee of WLA security ”with Diego González Quinteros, member of WLA SRMC-Uruguay and Fabien Marechal, member of WLA SRMC-France.
