“The growing relevance of electronic sports in Brazil and in the world is undoubtedly. The benefits to practitioners, related to the improvement of memory, motor and reasoning skills, are examples of the importance of the theme for sport, for the economy and for education,” explains Deputy Lopez in his justification in Requirement 8/2021.
For him, it is essential that the Brazilian Parliament discuss the possible regulation of electronic sports, reflect on the challenges for the expansion of its practice and offer incentive mechanisms for its better development.
In his application, and based on art. 255, Lopes asks for a public hearing meeting with the theme "Recognition, regulation, incentives and challenges of electronic sports" and suggestions inviting guests such as:
The Sports Commission of the Chamber will analyze today from 1:00pm the request of the deputy in a virtual session, which will surely be approved.
