According to the senator, the intention is to have more discussion around the changes that must be included in the substitute he intends to present to the text. One of them is to remove the time limit on lotteries to allow them to be permanent.
“We intend, in dialogue with our senator colleagues, to present some suggestions in the substitute, such as, for example, that we do not have a defined term for these two modalities, because these are important actions that can be taken as permanent, from the State, in order to have conditions to raise funds,” explained the senator.
Another change he intends to make is to link the bet ticket to the player's CPF (Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas - Registration of Individuals). According to Weverton, the measure can help tackle money laundering, in addition to being a benefit to the bettor, who will receive the prize even if he loses the ticket.
According to the text approved by the Chamber, while the emergency of public calamity due to the pandemic is in force, the Lottery of Health resources should be used exclusively in actions to prevent, contain, combat, and mitigate the effects of COVID-19 through from the National Health Fund (FNS), which will also keep unredeemed prizes. In the case of the Tourism Lottery, the net income and the prizes not redeemed will remain with the General Tourism Fund (Fungetur).
