The audience was attended by deputy Bacelar; Nicole Ferreira Facuri, director of the Market Intelligence and Competitiveness Department of the Ministry of Tourism; Magda Nassar, president of ABAV - Brazilian Association of Travel Agencies; Eduardo Sanovics, president of the Brazilian Association of Airline Companies; Marco Ferraz, president of the Brazilian Association of Maritime Cruises; José Adécio Jr., financial vice president of the Brazilian Association of the Hotel Industry – ABIH; and Orlando de Souza, president of the Forum of Hotel Operators in Brazil.
According to deputy Bacelar, several public hearings have been held to talk about issues in the segment, “but we need to discuss once a month what are the paths of this sector for the resumption of the economy. In view of the great difficulties we are going through, we need to create policies to improve the economy, and what we can think and do for tourism for the next ten years.”
Orlando de Souza, president of the Forum of Hotel Operators of Brazil, again defended the return of casinos, which will bring an additional offer of leisure alternatives for tourists, both national and international, asking the commission itself to address the issue. "I know it is a controversial topic, but casinos are a strong driver of tourism demand," he said.
The tourist experience and the options that Brazil offers in ecological tourism were two of the focuses of Nicole Facuri, who stressed the importance of nature and sustainability tourism as factors of positive social impact for the sector.
Magda Nassar said that tourism paths are very safe and strong, since the sector's recovery power is very fast and capable of generating immediate revenues, provided that Brazil develops personalized and refined tourism to meet the high demand for offers that the tourist chain can deliver.
Eduardo Sanovics focused on passenger transfer issues and that a regional aviation development policy could better serve a new public with quality, since families are signaling that trips to nearby locations and with a journey of up to an hour and a half will be highly sought as soon as measures of social distance are reduced.
José Odécio Jr., from ABIH, reinforced the importance of the hotel chain for the activity and how much the hotel operators - independent or chain - need the economy to happen quickly, pointing out that since the beginning of the pandemic everyone felt the impacts of the reducing travel flows.
