SBT TV network signs master deal with Betfair in Brazil for Copa America

Brazilian TV network SBT signed a master sponsorship contract with Betfair and Kwai for the Copa America broadcasts in games involving the Brazilian national team. Silvio Santos' broadcaster network still looks for new partnerships. Betfair, a sports betting company that is a traditional sponsor of Conmebol tournaments, will have its brand displayed during broadcasts of the games.

Last Tuesday, SBT confirmed that it will exclusively broadcast the Copa America 2021 on open TV. The announcement was broadcast during the main news show of the network, "SBT Brasil". In total, the network should present 11 games of the competition, including the opening and all the matches of the Brazilian team. The event starts on June 13, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Kwai, a video platform, will carry out media actions with Conmebol during the competition, while Betfair, a sports betting company that is a traditional sponsor of Conmebol products, having its brand displayed during the broadcasts.

SBT promised to produce and display a Copa America paw-per-view on TV system, as it was one of the requirements of the Japanese company Dentsu, the group that manages the championship between South American countries.

In this sense, SBT also started ahead because it fit the context presented by the brand, which instead of negotiating the 2024 and 2028 editions, preferred to sell only this year's Copa América. If Brazil is eliminated before the final, SBT can choose matches from another team to broadcast.
