Caixa is going through a period of contract renewal with sports confederations. In a short period of time, in addition to the CPB, it renewed with the Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation (R$30 million -US$5.65m- a year) and the Brazilian Athletics Confederation (R$16 million -US$3m- a year).
“Caixa Lotteries renew the sponsorship of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee for another year, through the Lottery Development Fund (FDL), benefiting 26 thousand athletes. The initiative reinforces CAIXA's support for sports and beginning and high-performance athletes, which, more than medals, bring more and more pride to all Brazilians,” stated the company in a post on Instagram.
The FDL is the resource left over from bets made by the public and which Caixa uses for promotional purposes. The use of this budget had already been the alternative found by the state company to maintain the contribution to the Paralympic movement as of January 2019.
Since then, CPB has promoted Caixa Lotteries brand to justify the use of part of the FDL funding in sponsorship. In 2020, it yielded approximately R$30 million (US$ 5.65m) to the committee.
“Caixa, the bank of Brazilian Paralympic sport, is also the bank of inclusion,” concludes the company's text on its social networks.
