Coljuegos announces measures aiming to gaming sector economic reactivation

The president of Coljuegos, César Augusto Valencia Galiano, announced new measures that seek to 'provide oxygen' to the land-based gaming sector, such as bingo halls and casinos, economically hit by temporary closures and capacity limits of the last year. 'Starting in April and during the health emergency, operators will be able to settle, declare and pay exploitation rights and administration expenses, in accordance with the operation carried out in the corresponding month,' explained Valencia Galiano.

To obtain this benefit, clarifies the president of Coljuegos, the operator must present the evidence and administrative acts issued by the competent authorities, in which the operation of the game was restricted within the respective period.

“It is important to specify that, for the settlement of April 2021, the operators will have until Thursday, May 6 to inform the Contractual Follow-up Management on the days of April in which there was no operation of the game elements located in mention, attaching the respective supports,” stressed the official.

Resolution 20212000010904, issued in recent days by Coljuegos, clarifies that, from the May settlement onwards, the system will be enabled so that the operator can modify the suggested settlement according to the operation carried out in the corresponding month.

The resolution also contemplates measures to make the financial capacity required of concessionaires more flexible, allowing the verification of financial indicators for new features in the inventory of localized games that imply an extension, a new contract or for renewal, an increase in value and an assignment, can be carried out with the financial statements as of December 31, 2019 or 2020.

In the same way, Internet gaming operators may request an extension or a new contract with the financial statements as of December 31, 2019 or 2020.
