Sportradar report leads TJD-RJ to summon Macaé players and Madureira president

Five players, the former coach, the manager, and the president of Brazilian football club Macaé will provide clarifications to the Court of Sports Justice of Rio de Janeiro in the investigation into the match against Madureira, for the Carioca Championship. The president of Madureira was also summoned. The reqests came from the auditor-rapporteur of the court, Joana Prado, based on information from a Sportradar report, which analyzes the movement of bets in the game of the two teams in the tournament.

The Sports Court of Rio de Janeiro (TJD-RJ) summoned this Monday players, the former coach, the football manager and the president of Macaé to testify in the investigation that investigates suspicions of a betting scheme in the match against Madureira, held on April 17, by Carioca Championship.

In addition to them, the chairman of Madureira, Elias Duba, was also summoned by the auditor-rapporteur Joana Prado to contribute with clarifications. These nine were summoned to testify in person next Monday, June 7, at the headquarters of the Court of Sports Justice.

The TJD audit was based on information from a report by Sportradar, a company that controls the movement of bets in the Carioca Championship. Joana Prado hopes to take the case to the judging panel in a short time.

“It is important to listen to all parties, as this is a very serious issue,” commented the auditor.

GE talked to two of the athletes mentioned in the report and who were summoned by Joana Prado. Goalkeeper Ricardo Luiz and defender Wanderson, nicknamed Dante, who were from Macaé no Carioca. They denied any participation in the alleged betting scheme.
